Approach

The Approach

Coaching begins with curiosity.

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. — Albert Einstein

At Alluvial, coaching begins with curiosity — about you, your context, and the complexity you’re navigating. I believe that greater self-awareness is one of the most powerful levers for better performance, and that the best work happens when people feel genuinely met where they are. Whether you’re leading a team through change, finding your footing in a new role, or simply ready to think more clearly about what’s next, this is a space designed for that kind of thinking.

The Process

How does this work?

Sessions are designed to feel spacious and focused — a dedicated time to think, reflect, and work through what matters most. For individuals, coaching can take place in person or remotely, and each session runs from 60 to 90 minutes. Engagements are typically structured over six months, giving enough time for real insight to develop into lasting change.

Six months

The typical shape of an engagement — enough time for real insight to develop into lasting change.

Is This For You?

Who is a good fit?

You’re a good fit to partner with Alluvial and increase your performance if you’re leading or managing genuine complexity, you see diversity of thought and perspectives as potential for innovation, you don’t believe in “how it is supposed to be,” and your curiosity is strong about yourself and all those involved.

When is it not a good fit?

You probably want to look elsewhere if you want simple answers to complex questions, you’re not willing to examine your assumptions and you see coaching as something for “problem cases” or as a precursor to the coachee leaving.

The Commitment to You

A thinking environment

When you work with Alluvial, you’ll experience:

  • Coaching that respects complexity – No oversimplification, no one-size-fits-all limitations
  • A safe and thinking environment where you can explore all perspectives and ideas
  • Deep listening with humility, there is no single perfect answer
  • Practical transformation actions that noticeably improve performance
  • Sustained impact – what you discover stays with you

What Coaching Is — and Isn’t

During every engagement, I work with the coachee to identify any missing skills that fall outside the coaching plan. These may relate to new sales experience, negotiation and contracting, project management, leading remotely, working across cultures, or other capabilities their organisation may already support through internal training, or could choose to develop specifically. Coaching is specific and goal-oriented, and it should complement rather than duplicate the company’s Learning and Development programs.

An Open Door

If any of this resonates, I’d love to hear from you.
